Walmart to Begin Selling the T-Mobile G1 at a Discount

If you thought the T-Mobile price of $179.99 for the new G1 phone was too hight, you're in luck. Wal Mart will begin selling the T-Mobile G1 phone at over $30.00 less than you can purchase it for directly from T-Mobile. Now, you can get a G1 for just 148.88 - of course this includes signing a 2 year T-Mobile contract, but it's definitely a low price for the hottest phone of the season.

550 Walmart stores began selling the G1 phones yesterday - October 29th, and that number is sure to rise. This could also help the reduce the overall cost of the G1 in general. Unfortunatley the move comes as a slap in the face to all those loyal T-Mobile fans who went out and paid full price to get their G1 just one week earlier. There will likeley be some level of backlash against T-Mobile for the move, but in general most consumers will probably be very happy to be getting their G1 for under $150.
